Are you wanting to do some fun marketing or something special for clients this holiday season? There’s not better time to show your past clients some appreciation! Here are three last minute ways that you can market your business this month:
Christmas Cards
Who doesn’t LOVE getting a Christmas card in the mail? Plus this can be a great marketing tool for your business. Make a list of who you would like to send a card to. This doesn’t have to just be clients, you can also include businesses that you’ve worked with or cross promoted with this past year. So if you’re a wedding photographer, send one to coordinators, venues, florists, etc that you loved working with. Newborn photographers, send one to your favorite prop vendor or OBGYN office that you’ve been working with. This is a great way to say thank you and put yourself at the forefront of their minds for the start of the year.
If you don’t have time to design your own card, look at sites like Minted for some beautifully designed options.
Thank you gift
If you haven’t already sent them a thank you gift, make your clients feel appreciated by sending them a Christmas gift in the mail. It doesn’t have to be anything over the top! You could send a first Christmas ornament to your wedding or newborn clients. (CG Pro has these great canvas ornaments that you can easily design for them.) For your engaged couples, you could send a date night gift certificate for a local movie or restaurant.
Or if you don’t want to send out a gift to all your clients, make a list of your top five client that have sent you the most referrals and send something special their way. You could have a canvas printed of their favorite image, send them a gift certificate for a great local restaurant, etc along with a handwritten thank you note.
Prints as gifts
If you’re wanting to make a little extra money and also say thank you, why not send an extra special discount and open up past galleries for people to order their prints through? Prints are always a great gift idea! Send an email directly to those people who have past galleries with the details of the flash sale. (You can use a service like Mailchimp to mass email or send an email directly from your gallery provider!) That way if you have current galleries of people who haven’t ordered yet, you won’t be undercutting yourself before they’ve ordered. Be sure to check with your print fulfillment lab about Holiday cutoffs for Standard/Expedited shipping.
