Using a milestone session questionnaire is a great way to help you ensure that your session goes smoothly. Let’s be real – babies can be unpredictable so being prepared as possible will help you get the most out of your sessions. Parents love being involved in the planning process too and using the questionnaire will help them trust you and feel more invested in their baby’s portraits. We’ve compiled a list of questions you can include in your milestone session questionnaire that you can send to your clients.
Are there any colors you would like to use? Any colors you dislike?
Location preference? (outdoor, studio, etc)
Where and how do you plan on displaying your images from this session?
Do you have any special props (favorite blankets, toys, shoes, meaningful items) that you would like to include in your session?
Clothing Preference for Baby? (fully clothed, partially clothed or diaper covers, bare bums are okay, mixture of all of the above)
Describe your vision for your session and what do you most want to capture?
Cake Smash – Describe any themes or ideas you have surrounding your cake smash session.
Cake Smash – How would you describe your *ideal* setup for a cake smash? (simple, lots of props, somewhere in between)
All About Baby
What size clothes does your baby wear? (if you provide outfits for them!)
Which milestones has your baby reached? (You can list things like: sits with support, sits unsupported, can lift head during tummy time, stands with support, etc)
Tell me about your baby! What makes them smile, laugh, favorite songs, what gets their attention, etc…
Does baby have any special needs or allergies that I should be aware of?
These questions are a great way to get yourself prepared AND to have your clients start to visualize their session. Building excitement is key to a great client experience. Incorporate your client questionnaire into your milestone workflow. You can automate sending your milestone questionnaire by using workflows in Iris.
