Lindsay Mader, Tell us a little about yourself!

Hi I’m Lindsay Mader! I’m a Nebraska girl and live on a farm with my hubby and three little girls, Hanna (6), Avery (4), and Reagan (2). I would say our favorite thing to do this time of year is to go the lake or any pool we can find! I love being outside, whether I’m mowing around the farm, playing with my kiddos, or gardening.

What do you specialize in? What made you want to focus on that specialty/specialties?

I absolutely love family photography and that’s mostly what I take photos of. I love the chaos, closeness, and energy that comes with having children and the candidness of it all. It’s much more fun and exciting for me with kids because they are so honest and can have such deep joy.

How did you first get started in photography?

I always loved the art of it but it wasn’t until after I had my second daughter that I really wanted to take the time and learn all I can. I planned to stay home with the girls and I thought photography would be fun. I think I literally watched every Pinterest post and youtube video I could find at the time to learn everything from how my camera worked, to photography in general, and how to use Lightroom and Photoshop. But I can say after I went to Sarah-Beth’s Workshop, I was hooked! I’m so thankful for it.

How has using Iris impacted your business?

I honestly don’t know how I kept it together before Iris. I love it because everything you need from invoices, questionnaires, contracts, clients’ info is there and it’s really easy to navigate. There isn’t a huge learning curve that usually comes when using a new software for the first time. And I love that it’s geared to photographers because it literally has what I need and I’m not overwhelmed with options that I’ll never use. Also, if you ever have a problem or question, Iris is so fast to get back to you and help. It’s wonderful!

What are your future goals for your business? What are you looking forward to?

My goals are always to make my work better, to keep striving to improve! I love mentoring with all my “Photographer crushes” and spending time with other like-minded photographers! I’m also always trying to find a better balance of being a mom to 3 little girls and working from home.

Fun Facts:
1. My late night Netflix editing binge watching includes anything with detective/crime investigating in it.
2. I have a total of 44 first cousins.
3. I’m a night owl and usually can’t fall asleep before midnight.
4. I love Jesus!
